B. L. A. Convention and 5th International Guppy Show
Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th October 2010 were the show dates, Gateway Hotel Nottingham the venue, but setting up started on Thursday the 14th October, in fact much earlier than that for Steve Elliott Guppy Show Manager and Dave Macallister

Judging of the 181 entries took place on the Friday by five I.K.G.H. judges, due to the Polish judge being unable to make the show, Derek Jordan kindly stepped in at the
last minute. The judges were: Malcolm Clarke, Derek Jordan, Denis Barbe, Hermann Magoschitz and Stephen Elliott.
Once again it was a truly international show with entries from the:
UK, France, Germany, Denmark, Slovenia, Poland, Italy and Czechoslovakia,
the great deal of effort made by all exhibitors is greatly appreciated.

On Saturday the
show was open to vistors,
in addition to the Guppy show there was a Guppy Sales Table, and Trade Stands including a stand by our sponsors JBL.
There were several lectures during the day including one on Guppy Genetics by Claus Osche
Saturday evening was the Gala dinner and presentation evening, an enjoyable event rounded off by a clever and funny speech kindly given by Peter Burgess.

On Sunday was again well attended, with
many new faces and concluded with the B.L.A. auction,
Derek Jordan kindly acted as auctioneer for the Guppy section.
The show was also the final leg of the BLA 2010 Guppy League, congraulations
must go to Malcolm Clarke on winning both the Broad Tail and Sword Tail Classes. Steve Elliott won the Short Tails just beating Malcolm on the final leg.
The event was enjoyed by all, not only for hobby of fish keeping but also for the chance to socialise and exchange stock and information with like minded hobbyists .
