Review:
This is a very basic book and benefits hugely because of it.  The man readily admitted he was no scientist or nutrition expert and was able to raise his guppies using products off the shelf at any pet shop(No magic recipes!) – if you are looking for chromosomes etc  this won't be the book!
His breeding methods are simple and fully explained. - 
At the time of writing the book in 1977 he had won numerous awards with his guppies.
 In his book there is half a page listing some of them, I will just list a few:

 1971 – Part 1976 
  500 1^st place International trophies
  and almost 1600 awards  including  20 Best In Show .

  World Champion Male Grand award (1973, 1974)

  Guppy Man of the Year (1971, 1973 and 1974)

The book has numerous colour photographs of guppies and each is
accompanied by text outlining their strengths and weaknesses. 
Some of the fish shown (unlike those featured in more modern
publications) would not disgrace themselves on todays show benches.
