British Livebearer Association Convention & 1st International Guppy Show
Judging by the number of people who stated they cannot wait until next year’s event, we must assume that this year’s combined event of Convention and International Guppy Show and Wild fish Show was a resounding success.
Over 60 people stayed for the weekend with this number more than doubling with day visitors.

There where two shows over the weekend the International Guppy Show which took place on the Saturday and the Wild fish Show that took place on the Sunday.
The Guppy Show had a total of 80 entries from
The Grand Champion was won by Derrick Clayton of the BLA with a magnificent Yellow Cobra Delta Tail for which he received the BLA Grand Champion Shield. The shield is to be awarded annually with the winners name engraved on the trophy.
The Guppy Show was split into three separate classes Broad Tails, Sword Tails and Short Tails with the winner of each class receiving a trophy and various King British products.
All entries received a certificate of entry showing where they came in the show and the points their fish were awarded
Both the Guppies and the Wild fish where displayed in purpose built display cabinets built by Steve Elliott complete with aeration and plant in each tank.


The Wild fish show had 30 entries and the best in show went to Dave MacAllister who received a trophy and various King British products.
Aquarian also had a display stand and where available to answer any fish keeping questions people may have about their products. We would like to thank them for the raffle prizes they kindly donated.
On the Sunday held our Autumn Auction, this was very well attended with standing room only.
