Membership of the British Livebearer Association is open to anyone interested in keeping and maintaining livebearing fishes whether wildform or cultivated

When joining the B.L.A. you can request membership of the growing sub-group for those interested in Fancy Guppies both breeding and/or showing. For further details of this  this sub-group please contact:

The Association has been set up to keep members informed of availability, identification and maintenance of livebearing fish   and will include new developments in conservation and report on descriptions of new species and name changes.

Communication with members will be mainly in the form of a magazine issued four times a year to be despatched approx. March, June, September and December, plus announcements on this website and the B.L.A. website.

The Association year will start on the 1st May and members may join at any time and will receive all magazines issued from the beginning of the current year.

Membership is £12 annually for UK residents, Overseas
membership £16 Sterling. The Association will contribute £1 for
every membership subscription to the Hobbyists Aqua Lab
Conservation Project to help fund the Ark project in Mexico.

A minimum of two events are held each year, a Spring Auction and a Convention, Auction and International Fancy Guppy Show in the Autumn (See details on this site )

Other events may take place during the year and will be announced on this site and published in the magazine.

A species control sytem has been introduced to facilitate availabilityof the species throughout the membership, members are asked to co-operate fully with this.
