Dedicated to Fancy Guppy breeding in the UK

Recently countries such as Germany, Italy and the USA have taken the lead in the hobby of Fancy Guppy breeding. The purpose of this site is to encourage the breeding of Guppies here in the UK.

It is often a problem to obtain good foundation stock in the this country but I hope that sites such as this and British Livebearer  , Viviparous  and Living Fish sites (see links page) will help increase the stock available and so maintain and increase the gene pool.

Guppies are often said to be "easy, hardy " fish, but cultivated Fancy Guppies do need good husbandry to thrive. The production of a  good line bred fish is a true challenge, one which I  am
still striving to meet. I am told Discus are easy by comparison ! See interesting new article based on a lecture Derek Jordan gave recently at the B.L.A. Convention, this is this first time I have seen published photographs showing the week by week growth of the Guppy, only wish my fish grew so well !. "Guppies - From Basic Set-up to Show Bench "

New to the site is an article by Alan Charlton "Fifteen Years of Snakeskin Topsword Guppies in the UK " although written some years ago it has lots of information including a link to the "Guppy Family Tree".

Started in October 2006 just after the 1st International Guppy Show ,the site has grown in content and visitor numbers and we hope, like the hobby, will continue to grow.
